Where was Mrs. Wright?

In October the Kindergarten teachers and PreK teachers attended the KTOT conference in Dallas.  We had a lot of fun and learned a lot of new things.  Many of the venders had drawings, but we must have not been the lucky winners.  Lakeshore Learning had a contest-design your own person.  There was a lot of confussion on the rules and procedures, but Ms. Lakeshore won.  We received the rug you see in the background for our room.  At first we thought the winner won $500 shopping spree which we were going to divide.

This was the original creation.  After figuring out the rules and that a presentation was required Ms. Lakeshore was altered.  One side was put together and neat because she uses Lakeshore Ready Made materials to teach, the other side she had frizzy hair, messy and torn clothing, and a broken flip-flop because she is a first year teacher trying to make all of her own materials.

We LOVE Frog Street on our end of the building-it is where a lot of our songs come from we sing in class.

I learned a lot and had fun.  It is GREAT to teach with such GREAT ladies!

Community Helpers: VFD

We walked to the Seymour VFD to visit with the local fireman.  They dressed two of their fireman up for the kids to see and showed us lots of tools and gadgets.  They ended our trip with a ride on the firetruck back to school!

Thank you very much to all of the men who have or do serve on our VFD.  We appreciate your hard work and dedication.
