Future Engineers

We began learning about engineers and the engineering process from a REAL engineer, Mr. Baker.  We were blessed to get to listen to him & he even had a fun activity for the students.  The students each made a paper airplane, launched it, & then made necessary adjustments to improve the flight. Mr. Baker explained that engineers constantly make improvements and adjustments to their projects.
The students are planning how to construct their marble run.  They brought supplies from home to build their run.

I was gone Thursday to a reading workshop and I came back to these 3 awesome works of art!  I was very impressed and very proud of my students!

Today we tested them out & they were all VERY successful.  We determined as a whole that Cooper, Marissa, & Lillie's marble run deserved a perfect score due to the challenging course they constructed.

The stomach bug seems to be going around so several were absent today.

I can't say enough how impressed I am with how well the students worked together and construct such a successful masterpiece!
